Free entry. Free parking.

Continuing the workshop visits, Doreen Coles caught George in his open-world workshop.

Is he preparing for 'Backyard Builds' or the next 'Robot Wars' melee?

Stolen from Bedford.

Possibly not the prettiest model Britannia but it means a lot to someone.

A real character.

Garth Porter has completed the additional signal switch and indicator on the raised track platform - so sited to enable guards to operate it as they go by. The indicator lamp duplicates the behaviour of the one on the main box; either of the buttons may be used at will. There is no selection between them.

A class act (is middle class leaning toward upper class?)

Brian Parker and Peter King cut the mustard on BH Monday (300516) when they took part in an event in Norwich to raise money for for East Anglian Childrens Hospices. "Mustard News" was there to record the event. If you already know when to harvest your mangolds, then fast forward to about 8mins15sec. Here

Meanwhile, at Delapre, it was the club run day. The club Britannia arrived back from Peter Spikings's workshop and was steamed for the first time. Barbara was having her brakes adjusted and, just checking, the new carriage shed will be long enough. Others were having fun too. Pictures from Steve Cook and Tony Kendall. Album Here.

NSME member Richard Cannell, also chairman of Peterborough MES, is building a Dart loco, to be named after granddaughter Amelia. Pictures form Brian Parker...

Two more pictures added after, this time little-uns for the bogie - Mr. Orchard has been busy again in his workshop producing Bulldog tender axleboxes -  not sure why he is making them tender....

Rugby MES are planning a Royal Scot Event

Sunny at times but cold for the birthday party on Tuesday 240516. Pictures from Brian Parker.

A decent video of the Gilling Main Line Event here. Look out for David Calvert's feet on the turntable at 2.20 and 3.50, shunting at 5.00 and a full David at 21.30. Norman L was there with his loco - he can be seen eating what is reported to be a bacon roll at 5.55

In addition to Peter Brough's daughter Sarah and grandson Thomas visiting from Australia to see how grandad plays trains, a testing time for Juliet and Richard was playing catch-up with the mower on Tuesday 170516. More Thomas pictures here

Minutes of the April committee meeting are now on the website in the Members' Area.

16mm members are planning to meet and run maybe monthly, maybe on a Thursday. If interested, Dennis Billington is your man (dennisb@nsme.co.uk)

After a good start, the rain came later than forecast and annoyingly, the sunshine came at 5. Most people enjoyed the May Public Run Day for most of the time.

2016 marks the 39th Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition. Again the show will be in mid October and feature nearly 1000 models, demonstrations/lectures and indoor/outdoor displays. David Packer will be seeking models for the NSME stand soon.
Why not enter your work in some of the 32 Meridienne competitions and display classes. The Meridienne entry form can be found here. (Not necessary for exhibiting models on the NSME stand).

Spalding Show pictures from Brian Parker. Firstly, the Peterborough stand and secondly, the Norwich stand, manned by the NSME member for North Norfolk, Peter King. Peter missed a great photo opportunity - but you know what he looks like by now.
